Grab’s lending business (GFSA – Grab Financial Services Asia) is a recent addition to Grab that focuses on the extension of microcredit to the under-served community with respect to financial services. GFSA team is a combination of the strong talent pool in its Regional Hub (Singapore) and deep local market operators across its focus markets. GFSA team is responsible for end-to-end conceptualization, design, development, execution and ongoing management of all lending activities in its focus markets and segments.
The Country Credit team is responsible for setting up and executing the credit risk management policies and procedures while working closely with the Country Head, and Regional Credit Risk team to assist in shaping the use of data and technology in risk management methodologies. The individual joining the Country Credit team will have the unique opportunity to rapidly grow professionally as the team embarks on this new journey across all aspects of the credit risk
Get to know the Role:
Assist in the development and implementation of data collection, data analytics and other strategies to analyze statistical efficiency and guide decision-making.
Handle credit operations required of approving credit applications.
Underwrite financing applications using alternative data.
Analyze data using an out-of-the-box lens from within and outside the Grab eco-system that would assist in making credit decisions.
Establish credit model, uncover insights and identify targeted areas for improvements.
Work with business development, data analytics, collections and finance teams to calibrate country credit policy and enable dynamic prioritization of credit business.
Monitor credit performance to identify underwriting weaknesses for pivoting to new and innovative credit underwriting methods for business growth.
Assist in designing and implementation of reports and performance measurement dashboards.
The must-haves:
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or relevant background.
Minimum 2+ years relevant work experience in Consumer / Retail credit policy or credit analytics
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amount of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Self-motivated and independent learner who is willing to share knowledge with the team
Detail-oriented and efficient time manager who thrives in a dynamic and dynamic working environment
Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining and segmentation techniques.
Ability to conceptualize and execute credit scoring using non-conventional alternative data.
Good to have:
Foundation in data query/manipulation using SQL and data visualization using tools like Tableau
Programming languages like SAS, R, Python, SPSS, Matlab or other tools for statistical analysis
