Business Automation Specialist, Operations

The Singapore Operations team oversees, shapes and grows the business in Grab Singapore. We contribute towards Grab’s vision of being Southeast Asia’s superapp by providing everyday services that matter most to consumers in Singapore. We develop and execute business strategies that help us achieve our vision in serving our communityGet to know our Team:Business Improvement & Automation team is responsible for championing business process re-engineering & automation as well as other value improvement solutions, in order to provide the efficiency leverage for the business to grow sustainably. We operate on a project-based nature, from generation of a business case for change, scoping of requirements and facilitation of As-Is understanding workshops, through to the development of To-Be process improvement and automation solutions.

Get to know the role:
This is an exciting opportunity with the Operations organization in Singapore, as a key member of the local Business Improvement & Automation team and in collaboration with the regional Business Process Automation team.

As a Business Automation Specialist you will be responsible for identifying potential areas for workflow improvement, develop and implement automation solutions, and evaluate the outcomes with business users. 

You should have the ability to design and develop automation solutions using tools including but not limited to Python, VBA, C++, JavaScript, and MySQL. Excellent agile development and prioritization skills will be very helpful to excel in this role.

The exciting day-to-day activities:
You will collaborate with the Business Improvement team and engage stakeholders to understand and distill the user requirements to develop scripts to solve pain points.

• Conduct user interviews and gather information such as process flow, pain points, automation/data requirements

• Analyse and document business processes, and identify areas for improvement and optimisation

• Discuss, design and develop automation scripts

• Conduct post-implementation user testing, gather feedback and roll out software updates governed by clear documentation and git-style version control

• Build upon the current script library

The absolute must-haves:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

• Minimum 1-3 years of professional experience, with a minimum 1 year of relevant web technology experience (e.g. JavaScript, Python, HTML/CSS, cookies, middleware, and SQL)

• Understanding of CICD and associated tools (e.g. Git)

• Good communication skills and excellent team player

• Self-starter and an engineer at heart, who is passionate about putting technology in helping business operations and driving change to improve growth.

The really good-to-haves:

• Familiarity with AWS Suites / Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud

• Full stack experience

• Knows how to use ReactJS
