As an UX Engineer, you are the amalgam of design, development and business. You take Grab's creative product concepts and bring them to life in an effort to push the boundaries of user interface design while meeting business goals. In this role, you'll partner with Researchers and Designers to define and deliver new features, test new concepts and assist with final implementation. Details are critical as you iterate on complex interactions, animations and pixel-perfect visual designs. You are highly technical, yet understand what great design is.
Get to know the Role:
- Comfortable interfacing with UX, product and technical teams in an agile development environment.
- Interface with researchers, designers and the mobile team writing code or using software to craft creative and engaging prototypes.
- Work on the project/product while meeting tight dateline
- These prototypes will demonstrate new design elements as well as new product features for customer validation and testing, internal stakeholder review and buy-in and for the development team to implement into software.
- Creation & Maintenance of Prototype Code Library alongside internal UX team.
The must haves:
- Have 2+ year experience of developing mobile, hybird, web apps, using TypeScript/JavaScript programming language.
- Have good understanding of JavaScript frameworks including React.js, Redux, and/or React Native.
- Have good understanding of web front-end programming, including HTML, CSS.
- Have good understanding of Git/Github flow.
- Have good understanding of basic data structure and algorithm.
- Communicate in English.
The good to haves:
- Experience with TypeScript
- Experience with macOS and terminal
- Experience with cross-platform framework like: Flutter, Cordova and so on.
- Experience with animation and interaction via ReactJS/React Native, JavaScript and CSS.
- Experience of developing mobile apps, using native mobile app programming language.
- Working knowledge of the following server-side scripting language: Node/PHP/Python.
- Have excellent problem solving skills and debugging skills for both React Native apps and native mobile apps.
- Understanding of UX Design - experienced in converting visuals, flow to working prototypes, in close collaboration with the Design Manager, Product Owner and Information Architect.
