JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage and build team member

  • Plan the appropriate human resource based on the R&D workload
  • Manage and train employees
  • Participate in recruiting and directly selecting employees for R&D department
  • Develop job description and provide KPI criteria for employees
  • Coordinate with HR team to create a professional and friendly working environment for R&D department

Manage R&D project

  • Monitor all the company’s new product project that R&D department’s in charge of, ensuring the project take place in the right quantity, quality and schedule.
  • Be responsible for handing over new products that the R&D department is in charge of for production department, risk analysis, prevention plans, production process, packaging process, customer quality criteria and sample documents …
  • Be responsible for updating customer requirements on new products and new materials for production
  • Assess potential risks affecting product quality when customers use it. Conduct inspections and evaluations of products and materials according to customer requirements, and to prevent quality risks.
  • Research and propose new production methods for old and new products to reduce production costs.
  • Actively seek new alternative materials to reduce production costs, ensure safety, health and other standards required by customers.
  • Actively seek out technologies and production methods from competitors, craft villages, other companies, other countries... to apply production improvements more effectively and diversely.
  • Supervise the storage of goods in the assigned area

Cost management:

  • Analyze the production cost of each new product, production process, materials used, packaging costs, error rate, rework...
  • Propose solutions to cut production costs and reach customers' desired prices.
  • Review prices before the accounting department sends prices to the sales department or customers.

Communication:

  • Standardize working processes, reporting systems, communication channels of the R&D department with the production department, directors, sales department and customers.
  • Standardize documents and document storage processes of the R&D department, put those forms and processes into practice, test and maintain them.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with departments, suppliers, and customers on issues related to the R&D department.
  • Evaluate suppliers on quality, price and schedule before handing over to the supply department.
  • Establish and maintain 5S for R&D department
  • Make and manage budget for the R&D department.
  • Encourage the creativity of R&D members.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of innovations and combine them with production to test on small models before deploying for mass production.

Job requirement

Qualification:

University

Major:

Mechanical, Engineering, Product Development, Quality Management or related fields

Diploma:

Bachelor and more

Knowledge:

Experienced in handicrafts, traditional products, high-end and luxury goods

Skills:

- Good communication skills in English, French is an advantage

- Flexibly handling situation skills, good problem detection and resolution.

- Creative ability

- Analytical and leadership skills

Capacity/Attitude:

- Able to work independently and teamwork

- Careful, meticulous, persistent in work.

- Have a high sense of responsibility and be proactive and creative in assigned work.

- Resistant to high pressure at work.

Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in a similar position
