The Software Engineering traineeship program at Grab is an accelerated six-month learning program that develops you into full-fledged members of our engineering teams. The start-dates for this program are flexible as long as we have openings available. We have three main pathways to follow, which are Backend and Mobile Engineering (Android and iOS). This program consists of bootcamps, trainings and on-the-job learning. You will have close contact with your manager to ensure you are meeting your personal learning objectives. With our exciting business environment and so many accomplished developers to learn from, no day will be the same.
Get to know the Role:
You will go through classroom bootcamps and self-initiated learning
You shadow established developers, program and product managers to learn the tricks of the trade
Once you feel equipped, you start working on small projects to apply your knowledge, but don’t get to comfortable as we will quickly raise the bar so that you can make an impact quickly.
You have weekly catch-ups with your manager and receive continuous feedback from your peers to help you grow and achieve your personal goals
By the end of your six-months, you are ready to call yourself a full-fledged Software Engineer and are ready to further specialize in your domain
You are always open to learn and are ought to have fun along the way
The must haves:
You are a fresh graduate or about to completing your studies with a major in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar, and are seeking your first work experience in this field
You have strong computer science fundamentals, and knowledge of algorithms and data structures
You are available full-time for six months
Foundational coding knowledge using Java, Python, Go, Kotlin or Swift
Foundational knowledge of backend or frontend frameworks
You are hungry and passionate about what you do, but care about the impact that you are making
You are eligible to work in Singapore
In order to qualify for a traineeship in Singapore, you must be a graduate student or nearing your graduation. Also, you must hold a Singapore citizenship, Permanent Residence (PR) or possess a valid Work Holiday Permit (WHP). More information about WHPs can be found on the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) website.
