Technical L&D Curriculum Developer

The Grab Technical Learning and Development team seeks an experienced Curriculum Developer to expand its outreach in an exciting time of hyper-growth. In this role, you focus on developing training for internal globally distributed product teams across engineering, product management, design/UX, and data science and analytics. Product engineering teams at Grab work on mission-critical initiatives where delivery and team performance align closely with customer and business impact. We understand the importance of employee training at all stages, whether its onboarding or continuous learning. Your goal is to equip our teams with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute successfully.

You not only develop courseware to accommodate different learning styles but also devise means of measuring the ROI impact of training. Join us on this fast-paced journey as we embark on new and ambitious initiatives.

Responsibilities

This role requires a high degree of self-sufficiency and independent judgment to lead projects end-to-end from gathering requirements, planning content, to developing programs and measuring their effectiveness.

  • Design and develop innovative learning solutions applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design to guide rapid learning while engaging with a high level of participation.

  • Develop learning content that fits the needs of the learner (includes on-demand e-learning courses online, virtual instructor-led training as well as classroom and blended learning materials).

  • Program manage the creation and distribution of technical courseware including developing exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies, and multimedia-based assets.

  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand the needs of the course objectives tailored for specific roles in engineering, product management, design, and data science plus analytics disciplines.

  • Contribute to the design and development of new learning models and content design templates.

  • Drive course delivery quality contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate and evaluate courseware developed by other team members.

  • Develop certification programs and exams that tailor to specific initiatives, roles, and work streams.

  • Deliver training when necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technical writing, or instructional design.

  • Four years adult education experience (as teacher or curriculum developer).

  • 5+ years experience in software engineering or IT system operations.

  • Strong knowledge of the latest technologies in developing scalable distributed systems across backend, mobile, web development.

  • Programming experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional written skills with advanced grammar knowledge.

  • Exceptional presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of leading-edge training platforms, technologies, and content creation tools (work samples required).

  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
