Software Engineer, Backend - Service Framework

We are looking for software engineers that will take engineering infrastructure, tools, frameworks & platform to the next level at Grab. The Service Framework team at Grab is a part of the engineering scale family. We work across multiple service teams at Grab providing top notch service abstractions and tooling. This creates an ecosystem in which developers can easily create services at a rapid pace by focussing on core business logic. Scale and resiliency are woven into our frameworks so developers don’t have to solve these problems repeatedly.

We utilize industry-leading technologies like GoLang Web Services, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, so there is always room to learn and to mentor.

Job role - What you’ll do:

• Conceive, design, build frameworks & systems required to support the rapid development of features, with the highest quality standards, for our global engineering organization.

• Help us shape the services required to support thousands of engineers and deliver our applications to millions of users around the globe

• Develop backend service framework in GoLang.

• Work with the rest of the team to develop abstractions to many concepts that are required to build scalable, distributed and robust microservice.

• Design and implement new features to support dynamic code and configurations for our global engineering teams.

Roles are available in the areas of Service Framework & Tools (for GoLang) and configuration management systems.

Must-haves:

• Expertise in at least one of the structured languages: Go, C#, C++, Python, Java

• Excellent technical problem-solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies.

• Strong drive to be part of a large-scale, growing organization and do whatever it takes to get us to the next level of engineering & service excellence.

• Experience building developer tools & systems is a plus
