Get to know the Team:  

  • Responsible for overseeing the various Local Purchasing teams covering across SEA, China, USA and Europe, across the full spectrum of categories (Tech, Indirect, Marketing, Professional Services etc)

  • Oversee and direct the transformational activities across Source to Pay (S2C), Pay to Procure (P2P) and re-design the procurement with an aim to future proof it for exponential growth across all Grab verticals

  • Explore the migration of Procurement up the value stream by focusing on Strategic sourcing, Operational Excellence and Business partnering, while putting up a blueprint for transactional work to be offshored into a Centre of Excellence (CoE) 

  • The Senior Manager, Regional Procurement will be over-seeing a team of ~25 and will work in close collaboration with the Heads of Tech/ Marketing to transform the purchasing landscape. 

 

 

Get to know the Role: 

The role reports into the Group Head (Acting), Procurement & Operational Excellence. 

You will be focusing mainly on the 4 areas below:

Knowledge of building Procurement Centre of Excellence (CoE) - consolidating transactional purchasing and moving that into a single location to perform across all Grab

Optimizing the purchasing process/ policies and ensure local compliance and category synergies

Manage the local Sourcing Categories across countries (S2C), while overseeing the CoE model for the transactional purchasing administration etc

Procurement overview of the various local countries procurement team, reporting into the Senior Manager, and ensuring optimization of sourcing categories and re-design of the purchasing processes locally.

 

 

The day-to-day activities:

  • Leads sourcing efforts beginning with spend analysis through contract execution

  • Identifies and leads sourcing and procurement process improvements

  • Operational Excellence focus - to determine the utilization/ effectiveness of our spend with vendors to achieve business outcome

  • Supplier Relationship Management across all Critical/ High Spend vendors that have a material impact to Grab success

  • Applies and implements Strategic Sourcing best practices and processes

  • Assesses opportunities, sets and executes commodity strategies

  • Develops business case, cost/benefit analysis and benefit realization analyses

  • Mitigate risks and capture opportunities (short and mid term) for key commodities.

  • Develops synergies and optimize working process between internal business partners and Procurement.

  • Analyzes, documents and presents complex category and commodity operational/financial data to stakeholders/executives

  • Drafts and edits commercial documents (RFPs, RFQs, Contracts, Terms & Conditions, etc.)

  • Coordinates and leads legal review/approval process for procurement/sourcing contracts/agreements

  • Leads supplier evaluation and selection process

  • Develops and deploys change management practices.

  • Maintains database of contracts, supplier information for the country spend.

  • Reviews and approves supplier management program strategies

  • Manages Service Level Agreements with suppliers

  • Identifies and leads process/continuous improvement efforts

  • Monitors and measures supplier performance and compliance; identifies and recommends ways to resolve performance issues

  • Manage Expense and Procurement performance. Monitor savings and Procurement KPIs.

  • Vendors and internal cross functional

  • Budgeting

  • Able to communicate well with different levels

 

The must haves:

  • Degree in any Supply Chain, Business Management discipline or any relevant study

  • Highly Dynamic, thriving in ambiguity and excellent prioritization skills

  • Relevant experience or consultancy experience prior preferred. 

  • Negotiation and sourcing. Understands and applies commercial law concepts, contracts terms and conditions and vendor management in Marketing commodity.

  • Cross functional team work, cross cultural competency

  • Highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Possesses initiative, resourceful and proactive attitude.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
