Safety Manager (Development)

Get to know the Role:

· Steer leadership and management teams along the organization’s safety mission and principles;

· Develop internal and external user safety policies, processes and engagement strategies ;

· Assist in development and implementation of strategy to steer Grab’s ISO 9001 efforts;

The day-to-day activities:

· Understand the respective country’s business objectives and key safety trends in order to assist the country leadership and provide safety advisory and solutioning;

· Work with the regional safety teams to identify safety features for implementation on the app;

· Actively monitor the safety performance across the region and develop early preventive measures;

· Develop regional safety engagement strategies and work with respective country teams to ensure successful rollout of safety products and features;

· Identify and assist to implement safety training programs for country teams;

· Develop safety training content and programs targeted at driver partners;

· Be a passionate advocate for road safety for both users and drivers;

· Augment the individual country security and safety office in dealing with national regulatory bodies for high-profile cases and issues

The must haves:

· Minimally bachelor's degree - 6+ years of experience;

· An analytical mindset with ability to present and execute on actionable findings;

· Critically understand quantitative and qualitative patterns that are associated with safety trends;

· An ability to develop a variety of complex policies and procedures with minimal guidance to prevent and mitigate safety risks;

· Strategic mindset in thinking about the bigger picture and how we can improve as a company;

· Proven conflict resolution skills;

· Possess excellent problem solving/decision making, communication and interpersonal skills;

· A strong judgment and moral compass;

· Executive presence to be able to influence leaders across the organization;

· An ability to work cross-functionally, independently or virtually in a minimally structured and fast-paced environment;

· Self-motivated to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines;

· Be traveling on a regular and/or ad hoc basis (expect more than 5 days per month);

· Passion to ensure a safe ride experience for all our passengers and drivers;

· Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Solid spoken and written communication skills;

· Proficiency with Tableau and Google Forms a plus

· Experience in engaging across Asian markets and cultures;

· Start-up experience a plus;

· Stay current on industry and governmental regulations, and develop strong relationships with law enforcement, government or private sector counterparts;

· Existing network of private and public sector contacts.
