Get to know the Role:
- The Regional IT Network Engineer is responsible for Network Operations, design and deployment of multi-site critical network environments for the Grab ecosystem. This consists of multi-vendor Routers, Switches, Wireless LAN, VoIP, Firewall & Network Security. A suitable candidate will be someone who is always seeking out for the next disruption to the way IT works. This is a highly technical and hands-on role based in our Jakarta office.
- You will exhibit knowledge and experience in
- Network Operations, Design and optimization
- Enterprise firewalls and security standards
- WIFI RF, Channels and limitations to drive improvements in our wired and wireless networks’ quality and reliability
- Excellent understanding of VPN (site-to-site, remote access, tunnels, cloud connect)
- Network services such as DNS, DHCP, 802.1X, TACACS/RADIUS etc
- Knowledge of common network protocols and technologies including 802.1Q, VLANs, Spanning Tree, ACLs, BGP, OSPF etc.
- Knowledge and Experience with AAA (Authentication, Authorisation, and Accounting)
- Site surveys, site assessments, and audits
- Good understanding of copper/fiber cabling standards and structured cabling
- Racking and installation of network hardware
The must haves:
- Bachelor degree in information systems or engineering and six or more years of work experience as a Network Engineer.
- Technical knowledge and experience in Network operations, design and deployment of multi-site critical network environments that consist of multi-vendor Routers, Switches, Wireless LAN, VoIP, Firewall & Network Security
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise wireless networking in a large environment
- Hands-on experience with QoS and VLAN configurations and designs
- Very strong internal customer facing background, as well as superior oral and written communication skills
- Work closely with the IT operations team to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands.
- Work closely with IT project team to support new projects including office setup
- Network optimization for improved network quality for Internal customers
- Vendor certifications – at least CCNA/JNCIA
- Experience with SD-WAN network infrastructures (Meraki)/Versa/Velocloud
- Experience on firewalls (Palo Alto/Fortinet/Fireeye/ASA/Firepower)
Nice to Haves:
- Systems administration experience with Linux
- Working knowlegde of any one scripting launguages (Powershell, Shell, Bash, Python, JavaScript, or Node.js.)
- Working Knowledge of REST API's
