GrabAds is bringing to market innovative, first-of-a-kind advertising products. Encompassing both offline & online, you can see our ads platform at work on the outside & inside of vehicles and also in our app and eventually though audience extensions. What you can’t see is the data that powers the ads and pretty much everything else at Grab. We’re leveraging our unique data and large, growing user base (130M??) to offer an advertiser experience that drives business outcomes. At the same time, we’re creating value for our users, drivers & merchant partners.

Get to know the Role:
As Head of Direct Sales, you will lead a current 20+ person sales & ops team across Grab’s leading markets - Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam. You will set the sales targets with the Regional Head of Ads, define strategies, lead training & development curriculum and oversee all of GrabAds go-to-market activities for leading brands & agencies. You will also have direct input into our Grab Ad Products and work closely with the ads product team to continually improve our ad products.

You’ll be a senior leader who works cross-functionally with leaders from Marketing, GrabRewards, GrabPayments, GrabFood, Enterprise & Business Development to package compelling solutions & identify new client opps. You will be a leader in SE Asia’s advertising industry.


The day-to-day activities

  • Directly manage Head of Ads in each country as well as Regional Ad Leads based in SGP

  • Scale & grow the sales team appropriately for sustainable growth & impact across the SE Asia region

  • Build & maintain high-impact media buying relationships across agencies & brands

  • Run regional Pitches & RFPs and Joint-Business Plans (JBPs) with key partners

  • Pipeline management, sales forecasting and key sales reports with business KPIs

  • Sales talent mentorship & development


​The must haves:

  • 12+ years leading high performing media & ad sales teams, preferably in SE Asia

  • Sound understanding & experience of the SEA Ads Ecosystem both Online & Offline

  • Experience working with regional teams and supporting & growing local markets

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills with ability to transmit across different level stakeholders

  • Analytical with strong bias for data based decisions

  • Team Player with the ability to work across a matrix environment in a fast paced environment

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Strong Sales Tool/CRM experience to make team as efficient as possible

  • Developer & Nurturer of talent with strong mentorship skills

  • Proven track-record of delivering against targets

Other requirements:

  • Fluency in English (written & spoken) Additional SE Asian Languages a plus

  • University Degree
