Get to know the Role:
The Regional Finance Manager (Ads) leads, coordinates and support all regional finance activities for Grab Ads with regional finance, local Ads and finance teams including month end closing, accounting matters, and other finance-related activities.
The day-to-day activities
Functional
Month End Closing
- Provide directions and coordinate with various country Finance leads and Ads teams in terms of monthly end closing activities and ensuring that Ads Financials are in proper order as well as closing processes are adhered to.
Billing/Receivables
- Provide direction to the Business and Local Finance to ensure Ads Revenue booked are accurate and complete as well as closing processes are adhered.
- To ensure all invoices are properly and accurately generated and share with Business in a timely manner.
Reconciliation
- Responsible for reviewing and investigating countries’ monthly reconciliations against Business’ file and Oracle accounting system.
- Identify unreconciled items, liaise with respective Country Finance to solve the
- unreconciled items and provide justifications to FPNA and Business department.
- To ensure the accuracy of the Grab Ads’s monthly P&L before handovering to FPNA on WD5, ie revenue, costs, overheads, accruals and prepayment are captured accurately city, product code and GL code etc correct period but also captured in the correct dimensions such as vertical, department, and completely, ensuring that these financials are not only correctly booked in the
Improvement Process
- Participate in Ads weekly and monthly meetings and lead in any finance related discussion during the meeting. Also provide recommendation on possible measures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Grab Ads process such as automation, process change etc
Compliance
- Proactively identify and develop mitigation action to reduce compliance and risks stemming from operations
Others
- Create and share the monthly Ads Revenue Reconciliation to countries before 25th of the month.
- Ad hoc assignments which are assigned by the Manager relating to Grab Ads
- Support and business partnering with the FPNA Leads for Grab Ads on month-end closing, process improvement and other ad hoc activities
Financial
- Coordinate with Local Finance to identify and analyses potential provision for doubtful debt / bad debts and prepare justification to Business and Regional Finance for provision or write off
- Assess on the accounting treatment based on IFRS, if there is launch of a new Grab Ads
- Product regionally, coordinate with Regional Finance and share across local Finance.
People
- Provide support to Regional/Country Finance, FPA or Business to assist with questions and problems related to Grab Ads from all aspect of parties.
The must haves:
- 7+ Years
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/ or finance, or other accounting subjects required.
- Strong inter-personal skill and able to work with team members from all levels
- Ability to meet tight deadline with minimum supervision
- Able to work in a fast-driven and dynamic work environment
- Resourceful, proactive and self-driven, initiative
- Good knowledge in accounting and double entry.
- Proficiency in Google Sheet and Microsoft Office software
- Ability to analyse financial figures and able to troubleshoot issues independently
- Ability to review large amounts of transaction data and analyse for problems
- Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and effectively organize work in a changing environment.
- Attention to details and follow up on a timely manner
