Regional Development Manager (Safety)

Get to know the Role:

• Grab’s Security and Safety team supports the organization across multiple geographies and business units. We plan, execute and enforce policies and standards to ensure the security of our people, facilities and other key assets, both physical and informational. We are responsible for all safety-related aspects of the platform, through continual development and innovation to the business processes, policies and products. We also help influence the overall strategic direction of the company by supporting the top management with safety insights and advisory
• If being constantly on the move and problem solving excite you, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will work on multi-dimensional projects, with our regional teams, and external partners to tackle real-time issues

• Steer leadership and management teams along the organization’s safety mission and principles;

• Develop and implement a strategy to steer Grab’s Product Roadmap for Safety

The day-to-day activities:

• Understand the respective country’s business objectives and assist the country safety managers to provide safety advisory and solutioning;

• Work with the regional safety office to identify safety features for implementation on the app;

• Actively monitor the safety KPIs within the region and develop early preventive measures;

• Keep a tab on relevant industry developments to bring in cutting edge technology in terms of safety products;

• Be a passionate advocate for road safety for both users and drivers.

• Augment the individual country security and safety office in dealing with national regulatory bodies for high-profile cases and issues

The must haves:

• Minimally bachelor's degree - 6+ years of experience;
• An analytical mindset with ability to present and execute on actionable findings;
• Critically understand quantitative and qualitative patterns that are associated with safety trends;
• Strategic mindset in thinking about the bigger picture and how we can improve as a company;
• Proven conflict resolution skills;
• Possess excellent problem solving/decision making, communication and interpersonal skills;
• A strong judgment and moral compass;
• Executive presence to be able to influence leaders across the organization;
• An ability to work cross-functionally, independently or virtually in a minimally structured and fast-paced environment;
• Self-motivated to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines;
• Passion to ensure a safe ride experience for all our passengers and drivers;
• Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Solid spoken and written communication skills;
• Proficiency with Tableau a plus

• Product management experience would be a big plus;
• Experience in engaging across Asian markets and cultures;
• Start-up experience a plus

• Stay current on industry and governmental regulations and development;
