The Communications team is responsible for telling the Grab story around the world. Whether it's speaking to media and industry commentators, thought leaders or the wider community, the Communications team is the voice of Grab.

Get to know the role:

Post the acquisition of Uber in SEA, Grab has transformed from a ride-hailing app to SEA’s leading super app. Core businesses now include food delivery, payments and financial services. We’re looking for an expert in corporate and brand positioning, who can work with country PR teams to educate the market on Grab’s super app strategy and highlight Grab’s contribution to local communities.

The Regional Communications Manager/ Senior Manager will manage multiple Southeast Asian markets. If the candidate has the right experience, country PR teams will also report to him/her. Our ideal candidate can distill key business objectives into a communications strategy, is great at managing senior stakeholders and collaborating with Marketing and Public Affairs teams, and willing to deepdive into local issues and regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and execution support for country PR teams for corporate profiling, new launches, and crisis & issues

  • Develop positioning and multi-format toolkits for country use, particularly in mobility, safety, and social impact

  • Anticipate how news in one country impacts another, and plan for regional outreach where necessary

  • Create thought leadership programmes for regional Grab executives

  • Build strong working relationships with country stakeholders (country/ business/ functional heads)

  • Organise and oversee regional media events or fam trips

  • Play the role of regional facilitator - set and track OKRs, share best practices, and drive regional initiatives to improve the quality of work and operational efficiency of country teams

The must-haves:

  • 8+ years experience: Corporate reputation management, media relations, issues management, integrated communications, data storytelling

  • Regional and/or in-market experience in key SEA countries and in a fast-growth company

  • Internet sector experience preferred

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) and one other Southeast Asian language

  • Have a strong news sense, creative in pushing new angles and ideas, hands-on and motivated by challenging work
