Grab’s lending business (GFSA – Grab Financial Services Asia) is a recent addition to Grab’s array of product and service offerings focused on extension of Micro credit to drivers, agents and merchants in Grab’s ecosystem. GFSA team is a combination of strong talent pool in its Regional Hub (Singapore) and deep local market operators across its focus markets.

GFSA team is responsible for end to end conceptualisation, design, development, execution and ongoing management of all

lending activities in its focus markets and segments.

Get to know the Role:

As “Partnerships Manager”, you will be responsible for driving merchant partnerships for our flagship consumer payment and credit products i.e. PayLater and Cash Loans. You will be owning the targets of Consumer Lending Business across multiple target segments and key external partnerships.

This role is part of our regional team chartered to drive merchant partnerships, build scale and market expansion for our consumer lending and payment products. As a part of the role, you will be expected to also spend 30% of your time in operations for merchant enablement, syncing with relevant teams for merchant on-boarding and integrations and launch pilots to test jointly with various cross-functional departments


The day-to-day activities:

  • Develop understanding of the needs of the consumer segment in Singapore and develop targeted product strategies / improvements for lending.
  • To build and manage regional pipeline of merchants to meet, sell and drive partnership for “PayLater” product and other consumer credit and payment products in the future
  • To lead negotiation advisory and business pitches support (Merchant PayLater Handbook) for merchant partnerships related to PayLater
  • Drive co-brand partnerships business development and relationship management, ensure comprehensive account performance tracking and review
  • To assist in developing a sustainable and scalable lending business with high satisfaction score from the segment.
  • Develop deep understanding of what drives growth and efficiency for our business; work jointly with product on the long-term automations and streamlining processes
  • Work closely with GrabPay team in joint pitching effort, merchant on-boarding and enablement and driving payment volumes
  • Work closely with marketing team to develop “Merchant PayLater Handbook” for easy on-boarding and drive collaborations on joint marketing campaigns

The must haves:

  • 4-5 years of experience; Prior experience in payments and consumer financial services will be an added advantage
  • Results-oriented, dynamic and self-driven
  • Competent in engaging and managing internal / external stakeholders and good negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen to cover across a wide range of projects across functions (Business Development Strategy, Marketing, Operations)
  • Highly comfortable in a semi-structured environment and organization that changes frequently
  • A self-starter and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong passion in promoting financial inclusion and to expand the market for financial services to the under served
