We are looking for an experienced, hands-on, and dynamic Operational Manager to lead and oversee the overall operations department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring operational efficiency across all teams. A strong command of English is essential for effective communication with internal teams, clients, and international partners. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive performance and support cross-functional collaboration to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and supervise the entire operational department, including import/export sea freight, logistics, warehousing, and customer service teams.
- Take a hands-on approach to resolving operational challenges, supporting staff, and ensuring smooth day-to-day workflow.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments such as sales, finance, and compliance to ensure seamless workflow and support business objectives.
- Oversee resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and technology to optimize department productivity.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Manage budgets and control operational costs while maintaining service quality.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment through hands-on leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement new technologies or systems to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on operational status and progress against targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A relevant master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in an operational management role, ideally within logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain sectors.
- Strong, hands-on leadership style with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team support.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is a must for communication with international clients and partners.
- Strong knowledge of import/export operations, sea freight, customs regulations, and overall logistics processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using operational software and MS Office applications.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with occasional visits to operational sites, ports, warehouses, or client locations as necessary.
- Regular business hours with flexibility to address urgent operational issues outside normal hours if needed
