  • Our Country management team for Malaysia oversees overall strategy, growth and P&L of the Grabpay business, as part of the Grab Financial Group

  • Our team’s mandate is to scale cashless payment across Malaysia by working with regional and cross functional teams to develop a hyper-local strategy and go-to-market plan to help solve one of the biggest challenges in SEA economies – cash

  • The team focuses on leveraging OneGrab assets and building strong partnerships with external and internal stakeholders to drive consumer engagement, delivering profitable growth, while bringing positive impacts in the local economies.

Get To Know The Role

  • The role is to lead the GrabPay Planning & Projects functions in Malaysia, reporting to the Head of Strategy, Planning & Projects for Malaysia. Key deliverables are to support GrabPay Malaysia’s strategic planning and project execution to drive business growth and identify new opportunities, leveraging OneGrab assets, data insights and industry knowledge. Key highlights are:
  • Strategic Planning

    • Act as a trusted advisor to the GrabPay Malaysia country team to partner in driving market growth and success towards OKRs/ targets, with efficient resource allocation and P&L ownership, involving in financial modeling for deal analysis and commercial negotiation

    • Support Head of GrabPay to define business priorities, potential opportunities and new revenue streams with measures of success in respective markets

    • Identify growth initiatives and new business opportunities for GrabPay Malaysia

    • Proactively engage with key stakeholders across verticals and functions to analyze business opportunities and emerging customer needs to drive growth opportunities, scaling Grab's payment ecosystem for GrabPay and OneGrab in Malaysia

    • Ensure a well-coordinated Country Strategy for GrabPay Malaysia, by coordinating with other Grab teams (both local & regional) and facilitating cross-team collaboration

    • Support planning & analysis of high impact strategic initiatives: e.g. providing a fact base, structuring and helping with issue identification and solutioning, advising on the practicalities of implementation

    • Support strategic discussions with external partners

    • Project Management

    • Identify key and needle-moving initiatives and strategic projects for Malaysia, in alignment with country team and support functions, with the objective to grow GrabPay business in Malaysia

    • Drive project traction to meet milestones and deliverables on time and targets 

    • Support project management on an ad-hoc basis for GrabPay, which provides exposure opportunities beyond Malaysia

  • Business Analytics Tracking

    • Closely track business performance metrics and develop relevant analytics dashboards for insights/ data-driven decision making

    • Develop/ manage knowledge sharing frameworks on competitive benchmarking, customer profiling and market segmentation for Malaysia

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred

  • Effective strategic planning, presentation and execution skills, with business modelling and data analysis (MS Office, Google Docs / Sheets / Slides) experiences. Project management experience is highly desired

  • Excellent in stakeholder negotiations, problem solving, analytical abilities, strategy consulting, pipeline management and performance forecasting/ tracking

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, with business knowledge to write and speak in another Southeast Asian language an added advantage

  • Mature profile with at least 4-5 years of experience in Corporate Strategy/ Business Planning/ Financial Analytics/ Project Management/ Management Consulting roles, with great understanding of payment/ fintech market landscape and competitive environment

  • Experience in fast paced sectors such as management consulting, technology, digital media, fintech, payment, telcos, ventures and/ or high growth startups driving transformational growth

  • People skills & attributes:

    • Interpersonal skills to effectively network within the company across verticals and functions

    • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders

    • Self-driven and highly motivated individual who has demonstrated credentials and experiences to work well in a startup VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment; with a deep desire to excel and develop a career in a fast growing tech company
