Daily responsibilities
· Operating, maintaining, and repairing facilities of the Automation Technology Lab, Metallurgy - Materials Lab, and Additive Manufacturing Lab. Preparing procurement of related consumables.
· Operating, maintaining. And repairing facilities of the Maker Space / Innovation Hub. Preparing procurement of related consumables.
· Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
· Ensure the operational safety of the machines, equipment, and responsible facilities.
· Prepare the contents and support lecturers in instructing students and supervising students conducting laboratory experiments and assessing their laboratory reports.
· Manage laboratory consumables and purchase requests for minor equipment
· Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot problems of machines and equipment to ensure they are operated safely with optimal performance
· Ensure that equipment, tools, chemicals and other materials are adequately stocked and kept in standard conditions
· Do training activities related to associated labs for industrial companies; Do production-related projects using the assigned labs/hub/ space for industrial companies as requested by faculty;
· Providing guidance to students on how to use laboratory facilities in an appropriate and safe manner
· Developing, setting up, conducting, and teaching laboratory experiments for courses of the MEN study program and assessing their laboratory reports if required.
· Developing, setting up, conducting, and teaching relevant modules in the Maker Space/Innovation Hub for students and participants
· Assisting students in projects, such as bachelor theses and master theses, student research projects
· Conducting training and workshops in the assigned labs and hub
· Planning and organizing activities related to STEM and STEAM at the Maker Space / Innovation Hub
· Supporting research projects under the guidance of VGU’s faculty
Periodic/ Irregular responsibilities
· Support the procurement process of new equipment and software; Perform acceptance tests of new equipment
· Support the student recruitment activities such as STEM development, or experience classes conducted at the Maker Space / Innovation Hub.
· Acting as invigilator for exams of all study programs, if required
· Taking part in demonstrations and exhibitions for larger VGU events such as Open Days, Education Fairs, or STEM events, as well as academic events such as conferences.
