Interns working in the Machine Shop are responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineering team initiatives core to our engineering programs. Machining practices, modeling concepts, manufac-turing theory, and teamwork are critical to this role. Machine shop interns are expected to step in during every step of the fabrication process:

• Support the Machine shop team to complete the Project SMED (Setup time reduction)
• Define and continuously improve manufacturing routing to ensure process efficiency, meeting the target Q, C, D.
• Will be involved in the FA (first article), NPI (new product introduction), inspection method, fixture design, and equipment calibration process.
• Define process and equipment parameters & setup instructions (WI #).
• Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials and contributes to continuous improvement.

• Final-year student or completed training program in Mechanical, Mechatronic, GPEM
• Able to use CAD/ Cam, Solid Works, Mastercam
  
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and management.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Project management and presentation skills.
