ABOUT VIN UNIVERSITY

VinUniversity is a newly developed, private, non-profit university in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was established by Vingroup with a mission to be the first world-class, internationally accredited and ranked university in Vietnam. VinUniversity has two overarching goals: to excel in teaching; and to produce graduates and research that contribute to developing the key economic sectors of Vietnam.
The formation of the VinUniversity Project has resulted from the collaboration of Vingroup with Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania. Cornell provides academic consulting on Management, Engineering and Technology; and Penn focuses on the Health Sciences disciplines. Both Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania are distinguished Ivy League institutions based in the United States of America. Cornell is involved in every aspect of the development of VinUniversity from infrastructure and campus planning to curriculum development and faculty hiring. Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business is providing extensive academic advisement in a variety of areas, drawing from a wealth of faculty expertise at multiple colleges and units at Cornell University. Penn’s medical and nursing schools are functioning in a similar fashion to guide the formation of health science education at VinUniversity and to interface with Vinmec, Vingroup’s outstanding health system which currently encompasses 7 hospitals throughout Vietnam. VinUniversity aims to meet the QS 5-star rating standards and will include the following schools within the University: a School of Business, Hospitality, and Real Estate; a School of Engineering and Technology; a School of General Education; a forthcoming School of Health Services and Public Health; a School of Nursing; and a School of Medicine. The University will be an English Medium Instruction (EMI) institution and plans to open for the inaugural class of students in Fall 2020.
On November 14, 2018, VinUni started construction on the 23 hectare area, located within the mega-urban complex of VinCity Ocean Park (Gia Lam, Hanoi). VinUni’s architecture emphasizes the harmony of neo-classic façade with modern and high-tech interior design. Professors and students will find themselves equipped with modern lecture halls and classrooms designed for most advanced teaching and learning methods.

POSITION SUMMARY
Admissions cum Pathway Manager is responsible for setting up, implementing and managing the Admissions strategy to attract and retain applicants; and conducting the research and developing curriculum framework, detailed curricula and teaching materials for Pathway Program.

Reports to: Admissions cum Pathway Director

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Admissions:

 Researches and analyses markets and the applicant pool to identify, develop and implement appropriate recruitment policies, tactics and activities to achieve enrolment goals.
 Develops, organizes and conducts large-scale, multi-faceted recruiting events in-person and online.
 Initiates and completes one-on-one advising sessions and follow-up sessions on the features and benefits of the programs to attract high-calibre applicants and students.
 Assesses the effectiveness of recruitment activities and makes strategic recommendations for improvement.
 Conducts mandatory admissions interviews of individuals that aid in assessing a candidates' suitability for programs.
 Evaluates complex applications and documentation. Assesses academic and non-academic factors pertaining to the evaluation and admission of domestic and international applicants.
 Participates in the admissions decision for candidates by reviewing files and contributing as members of the admissions committee. Assesses candidates for scholarship consideration.
 Monitors and ensures consistent application of VinUni policies regarding admission assessment of both domestic and international applicants.
 Makes recommendations and implements improvements to increase yield rates. Analyzes admissions survey results.
 Analyzes data in order to assess the admission criteria suitability; reviews and recommends changes to admission policies, procedures and rubrics in order to achieve goals.
 Designs and implements all yield activities to ensure admitted students attend programs.

2. Pathway Program:

 Develop and propose standards, procedures and guidelines related to the development and management of curriculum
 Develop the curriculum framework, detailed curriculum and teaching materials
 Coordinate the review and validation of curriculum and teaching materials
 Carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs
 Give lectures and gain industrial experience in accordance with the programs of VinUni and its partners
 Build and maintain the collaboration with partners; organise workshops and researches both national and international.
 Other assigned duties by the line manager.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
 A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, administration or related field is required. Studying abroad, in an English speaking country, is an advantage
 At least 3, ideally 5+ years of project management experience in admissions required, with proven track record of hitting ambitious goals
 Ability to inspire and mobilize others through spoken/written communications, ideally with experience managing volunteers and/or delivering presentations or trainings
 Track record of initiating and implementing process improvements, ideally with experience in quality improvement, change management, and/or human centered design methodology
 Commitment to equity and inclusion required, including experience working across areas of difference, e.g. cultural backgrounds, functional area, race/ethnicity, and/or geographic location
 Experience working with a relational database preferred
 Excellent in Vietnamese and English
 Master a coherent, progressive and creative thinking; to have a spirit and passion for education; to be able to take prompt actions with determination and be ready to take on new challenges.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
English is the language of teaching and communication at Vin University. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 7.0.
For Higher Education roles, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by having completed PhD studies while being instructed through the medium of English.
