Instech & Innovation Executive

JOB PURPOSE

An IT Instech & Innovation Senior Executive will

• Conduct external market and technical research on emerging technologies, competitor offerings…
• Assist with innovation projects, help design and create innovative technical solutions
• Perform software testing, participate in proof of concept (POC) and prototyping activity
• Prepare Business Specification (BS) documents, Technical Specification (TS), Training Materials…
• Identify and provide the right enabling technologies to facilitate day-to-day innovation activities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Analyse all aspects of existing business practices & procedures
• Research and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools
• Develop machine learning applications according to requirements
• Prepare research report, business specification Documents (BS), Technical Specification (TS), Training materials…
• Assist with testing new technology and provide feedback to project teams, vendors
• Coordinate transfer of research, prototypes and improved processes to the customer
• Research, study and propose to apply new emerging technology

Education, no. of year experience:

• A university degree/college diploma in Computer Science/Data Science/Business Management or equivalent business experience
• Experiences in life insurance/financial business is preferable

Technical skills:

• Demonstrated experience in assessing technology with focus on experimentation and data-driven decision making such as Artificial Intelligent, Machine Learning, Chat bot, Blockchain…
• Ability to write robust code in Python, Java and R
• Familiar with SQL Server and able to write SQL queries
• Understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture
• Understanding of applications interfaces between life system and other corporate systems
• Understanding of networks, operating systems, and technology system interfaces
•  Computer literate in office suite of products (word, spreadsheet, flowchart, presentation, Power BI…)

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS :

Internal interface

The position reports to the IT Instech & Innovation Senior Officer.

All employees, particularly those in the OP Process Improvement and Automation Project Team, IT Application Development, Operations Division, Agency Administration Department, and Finance Division, will be internal clients of the IT Instech & Innovation Senior Executive.

External Interface

External contacts will include but not limited to software providers/consultants, tech startup, innovation labs, university…
