Job requirement

  • Provide operational support/ maintenance for all Network, Hardware and Software problems.
  • Ensure weekly monthly back-up for other Hotel System and copy to tape.
  • Create Access Rights based on approved IT Service Forms and in accordance with Rosewood guidelines or default System settings upon installation.
  • Remove Access Rights based on approved IT Service Forms/ Clearance Forms.
  • Update F&B POS based on approved Input Forms.
  • Supply written daily / monthly system progress, daily issue list and routine project/update reports to the assigned IT Manager with copies to Managing Director, Director of Finance and any other related department heads.
  • To manage the WIFI bandwidth provided by the hotel for both guests and administrative department usage. To ensure experience is of high standard and minimizes complaints.
  • To provide courteous and professional service and to maintain good working relationship with all hotel associates
  • To have a complete understanding of the hotel associate handbook and to adhere to the regulations contained therein
  • To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment and software
  • Supervise work of IT Executive.
  • Ensure cabling, hardware and software as per Rosewood guidelines.
  • Monitor data security – virus protection and firewalls, restrictions in access to Hotel Systems and Computer Equipment, Computer Room designed as per Rosewood guidelines.
  • Provide technical expertise in evaluation of Suppliers and acceptance of delivery of IT equipment purchased.
  • Maintain Memorandum Records on maintenance schedules/ warranties, and ensure compliance by Suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Users and evaluate custom-built software provided by Vendors before payment/purchase
  • Monitor all IT related training schedules for both IT and other Users in the Hotel.
  • Business Knowledge – Maintains an expert understanding of the property’s business needs, methodologies, strategies and upcoming projects. Keep current with property, competitors and like industry uses of technology.
  • Problem Solving – Identifies, analyzes, organizes and solve issues creatively, effectively and quickly.
  • Knowledge – Understands IR technology standards, platforms and directions. Maintains a working understanding of technology trends, particularly in the lodging industry as well as aware of systems development methods and tools that are available.
  • Support – Provides first and second level support to property IR associates for technical problem. Conduct equipment performance audits and provides recommendation for performance improvement.
  • Operations – Monitors computer and network operations at the property. Performs onsite and offsite backup/recovery functions and maintain disaster recovery plan.
  • Policies and Procedures – Has read and understand applicable eCorporate Policies and IR Standard Operating Procedures and other related materials.
  • Project Management – Plans and manages technology projects; performs an assessment of needs ensuring compliance with New World standards, budget, capital requirements and authorization. Determine priorities, schedules, plan and necessary resources to ensure completion of projects on schedule, on budget and according to planned specifications and objectives.
  • Standards – Comply with MI system standards. Participates in the annual CAPEX planning process. Produces an annual operating budget for the System Department. Arranges system maintenance contracts.
  • Revenue & Costs – Grows property revenue by providing technology services. Reduces IT costs through seeking out potential property based opportunities as well as investigating in-country leveraging.
  • Uptime – Minimizes business interruptions.
  • Productivity Enhancement – Increases productivity through encouraging process improvements using the property IT infrastructure.
  • Communication – Supply written monthly system progress and routine project/update reports to the assigned Area System Manager with copies to the Regional IR Executives, General Manager, Director of Finance and any other related department heads.
  • Ongoing Configuration Maintenance – Performs maintenance that eliminates security risks, set appropriate local area network system access that provides dissemination of duties. Communicates to the appropriate department managers when the responsible department has not performed system configuration and/or maintenance.
  • Telecom – Arrange and implement telecom standards and enhancements in conjunction with the Regional Telecom Manager.
  • IR Policy – Adheres to, communicates and enforces IR policies and standards protecting company hardware, software and other resources.
  • Assets Management – Maintain an inventory of equipment and software.
  • Education and Delegation – Provides system education to executive committee. Provides on the spot training to users to ensure that easy system tasks are delegated to users i.e. empower users. Arranges ongoing large group training programs in coordination with the Training Manager. Encourages operating departments to maintain a structured ongoing computer training program especially targeted at new associates. Meet with other hotels’ IT Manager. Attend local conventions and participates off-site technical training courses.
  • Backup – Have in place a “person in the pocket”, System Champion or second in charge who is adequately trained and ready and able to take up the IT Manager’s role on a short term or long-term basis
