POSITION SUMMARY
The Import Documentation Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with inbound shipment documentation with MSC’s internal procedures and local regulations. This role focuses on leading the Import Documentation team, supporting customer and partner needs, and managing risks and costs related to import.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Documentation Compliance:
- Ensure all inbound shipment documentation complies with MSC’s internal procedures and local authority regulations.
- Keep relevant departments informed of changes in inbound procedures.
- Coordinate with overseas agencies for COD and re-export shipments to/from/via Vietnam.
2. Customer Service:
- Maintain MSC’s service standards through ongoing review and enhancement.
- Handle escalating customer issues and provide tailored solutions for VIP clients.
3. Cost Control:
- Review manifests to identify routing errors and booking risks.
- Verify port storage, plug, and vendor invoices related to import cargo.
4. Analysis & Reporting:
- Nominate cargo flow to terminals based on shipment priority and operational constraints.
- Analyze service performance to support cost-saving and sales efforts.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for management, overseas agencies, and Geneva.
5. Team Leadership & Process Optimization:
- Lead and assign tasks within the team to meet operational deadlines and KPIs.
- Improve work processes to enhance accuracy, reduce manual tasks, and maintain flexibility.
- Coach and develop team members to ensure performance and continuous improvement.
6. Other Assignments:
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
