Team description:

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineering Manager that will take system operations systems and processes at Grab to the next level. The Site Reliability Engineering team at Grab is a part of the engineering scale family, and works across all backend, web and mobile teams at Grab, delivering top-notch automation systems, tooling and best practices for enabling and supporting all engineering teams at Grab to achieve the highest standards of operational excellence.

We utilize industry-leading technologies like GoLang, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Terraform, ELK and target five nines availability, so there is always room to learn and to mentor.

Job role - What you’ll do:

  • Lead our growing team of Site Reliability Engineers and managers in improving the reliability of all Grab products and services;

  • Manage, monitor, maintain and grow systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of performance and availability (for multi-million MAU);

  • Define and implement our reliability strategy to meet the highest standards of customer expectations and contractual requirements;

  • Drive the technical decisions for Grab's infrastructure with a focus on reliability;

  • Establish processes and systems to ensure that engineering teams have everything they need to be successful in their journey of creating highly available service

  • Be at the center of the transformation of our engineering culture.

The must haves:

  • Incredible passion for operational excellence with a laser-like focus on customers

  • 7+ years of system operations management experience, preferably in large-scale distributed systems

  • Experience managing large, geographically distributed teams

  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or have a similar experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive best practices across large organizations and design operational systems

  • Proven team leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done

  • Ability to clearly communicate high-level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including to senior leadership.

  • Ability to act as an advisor, coach, mentor, and partner all at the same time.

  • Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and build a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment.

  • Able to attract, develop, and keep high-quality multi-disciplinary teams
