Get to know the Role

We are looking for someone with a strong communications strategy background - preferably with a mix of creative and media/digital marketing experience.

In your time as a communications you have worked across the spectrum of brand and marketing problems - so do tell us about making a brand more loved, positioning a new product, putting a creative twist on promotions, improving positive sentiment. ​We’re a lean team of creative and strategic thinkers, in service of shaping the Grab brand into a loveable powerhouse in SE Asia.

This role is a senior individual contributor role - leading several functions including Branding & Social Media, PR, Consumer Insight and Digital Media.

Responsibilities

  • 60% Marketing Communications and Campaigns Go-to-Market Planning & Execution Lead – Work on Grab corporate / OneGrab brand positioning to serve the business objective starting from creative brief, multi-media channel campaign planning both traditional and digital and influencers’ channel. Able to understand and guide team on both online and offline activation.
  • 30% More effective campaign GTM by maximizing the power of Traditional Media, Digital Media, PR and Social - drive better campaign results through more rigorous forward channel planning. In this more technical area, you will need to have some fluency in media planning performance metrics (especially digital) but you not be alone; you will have the support of your own local team of specialists and also regional media expert in traditional, digital, and social.
  • 10% Experiment, Learn and Innovate You will be encouraged (even nagged sometimes) every quarterly planning cycle to propose new and un-briefed marketing initiatives to win brand love and get the brand talked about in everyday conversations. You will test and learn continuously get smarter with every campaign, and mine all sources of data to unearth new insights so our marketing gets better with every learning

The Successful Applicant

  • Highly experienced Brand and Comms Planning Expert: you would already have a great portfolio of work across the spectrum of communications: brand re-positioning, new product launches, interesting comms twist on sales promotions, turning insights into ideas
  • Highly organized: Hands-on agency account management experience on fast moving categories highly preferred. You will need a strong forward planning mindset and sound time management skills to tackle both urgent short-term tasks and important long-term tasks within compressed timeframes in a deadline-driven now now now organization
  • Cross-media subject matter expertise (or is a rapid self-learner to fill knowledge gaps): Demonstrate strong knowledge of media and how (especially all forms of digital - display, search, social, programmatic, content and influencer marketing). You’ve got some hands on experience in Adwords/Ads manager/Nielsen media tools - enough to advise eneralist marketing teams on which types of targeting and signals work best for what kinds of media/products/audiences/campaign types
  • Genuine restless curiosity marketing knowledge gets obsolete fast. You have to get yourself updated on new marketing trends including media and tech trends.
  • Hands-on, hardworking, hunger, heart and humility: motivated by a business in its ‘building phase’ and able to thrive in an environment with a ‘start-up’ culture. Team player that is comfortable to rely on informal leadership structures
