Group Quality & Food Safety Director

Key responsibilities

1. Quality Operation

• Directly manage the QA, QMS, Lab, and Outsourced Quality Management units at BTMi and BTM VN, ensuring compliance with established quality standards and driving continuous improvement.
• Develop, implement, and oversee a unified quality management system across BTMi & BTM Vietnam to ensure compliance with regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.

2. Product Quality Assurance (QA)

• Oversee and ensure effective control of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products in compliance with quality standards.
• Manage quality losses and customer complaints, leading resolution and improvement initiatives to minimize quality losses.
• Drive the implementation of standardization across manufacturing sites.

3. Quality Management System (QMS) Management

• Provide strategic direction, improve, and update the quality management system, related processes, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance through internal and external audit activities.
• Monitor industry trends, update regulatory changes, and propose improvement initiatives to maintain competitiveness.

4. Laboratory (Lab) Management

• Manage the product testing and inspection system.
• Research and develop new testing methods to support production and product development.
• Ensure the accuracy, objectivity, and transparency of test results.

5. Outsourcing/JV Quality Management

• Establish and oversee the quality management framework for outsourcing units (JVs and partners), ensuring compliance with group standards and contractual requirements.
• Conduct periodic evaluations, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement of quality management systems at outsourcing units.
• Manage and coordinate the resolution of quality issues in outsourced products, ensuring effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

6. Collaborate with departments to maintain and improve audit processes, ensuring compliance with ISO 22000, ISO 17025, HACCP, GMP, EU-USDA-China-Japan organic standards, and customer-specific requirements.

7. Conduct regular quality reviews, provide team guidance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

8. Review and update quality policies, procedures, and documentation in line with best practices and regulations.

9. Provide training and development to enhance the team’s capabilities and effectiveness.

10. Collaborate with departments to ensure effective implementation of quality principles across the organization.

11. Stay informed of industry trends, new regulations, and recommend necessary changes to remain competitive.

12. Perform other tasks as assigned by superiors.

Job Requirements:

1. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree would be a plus.

2. Experience

- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the Fresh Food/Dairy/FMCG industry, with several years in a similar managerial role.

- In-depth understanding of Quality Management operations and best practices, preferably in food processing or export sectors.

3. Skills

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and develop a diverse team.

- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.

- Demonstrated experience with quality management systems, process improvement methodologies, and regulatory compliance.

- Professional certifications in quality management or food safety (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP) are highly desirable.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

- Proficient in the use of quality management software and tools.
