JOB SUMMARY
To ensure the factory operates in strict compliance with Vietnamese Law, Customer requirements, and International Standards (ISO) regarding Environment, Health, and Safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
A. Environment & Compliance
Legal Compliance
Monitor updates in EHS laws.
Prepare and submit mandatory reports to Authorities (Department of Natural Resources and Environment, DOLISA), such as Environmental Monitoring, Hazardous Waste, and Labor Safety reports.
System Management (ISO / SMETA / Internal)
Maintain and upgrade the ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 management systems.
Be responsible for SMETA audits and verification data.
External Audits
Prepare full documentation and evidence for 3rd party audits (Customers, Government inspections, Certification bodies).
Lead site tours and respond to auditor inquiries.
Collaborate with Managers to propose Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) for audit findings and track them to closure.
Waste & Chemical Management
Supervise hazardous waste storage and transfer.
Control chemical management in the factory (MSDS, labeling).
B. Safety Operations & Internal Audit
Internal Inspections
Develop the internal audit plan.
Conduct daily/weekly safety patrols to identify hazards (unsafe acts/conditions) in production lines and warehouses.
Risk Assessment
Conduct Risk Assessments (HIRA/JSA) regularly or when there are changes in machinery or layout.
Work Instructions
Compose and update EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for machines and equipment requiring strict safety inspection.
PPE Management
Manage the selection and issuance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all staff.
Monitor effective PPE usage.
C. Training & Emergency Response
Conduct EHS orientation training for new workers, visitors, suppliers, and contractors.
Organize specialized training (Chemical safety, Electrical safety, etc.) as required by law.
Supervise and coordinate the Firefighting Team and First Aid Team.
Organize periodic emergency drills.
Lead incident/accident investigations, prepare reports, and propose preventive measures.
D. Occupational Health
Oversee the operation of the Medical Room and first-aid kits.
Manage the occupational health examination plan and disease control records.
Report EHS performance (KPIs, accident rates) weekly/monthly to the Manager.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Labor Safety, or Technical fields (Electrical/Mechanical).
Experience
Minimum 03 years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge
Strong knowledge of Vietnam EHS Legislation. Hands-on experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001. Experience with Environment or Social Compliance Audits (BSCI, SMETA) is a huge plus.
Functional Skills
English: Good command of English (Reading technical standards, writing reports, and communicating with auditors). Audit Skills: Ability to prepare evidence and explain processes to auditors. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, proactive attitude, and ability to work under pressure. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint for reporting).
