EHS Specialist - Contractor

Job requirement

* Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS requirements and locally applicable regulations.

* Provide EHS technical support for the site in construction, installation and commissioning

* Implement EHS activities to comply with EHS framework requirements and regulatory requirements.

*Manage construction and installation activities according to EHS requirements including air, water, waste and chemical/ materials management issues

* Conduct EHS training and presentations to contractors on various topics within scope of responsibility.

* Perform EHS audits/ inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are developed and implemented on a timely basis.

* Lead and/ or participate in incident investigations and ensure appropriate root causes are identified and corrective actions are developed/ implemented

* Evaluate EHS risks and challenges and develop appropriate risk reduction strategies.

* Work closely with EHS Manager, EHS staff to develop and implement related EHS programs and strategies.

* Maintain safety and health records and documents required by EHS and applicable regulatory requirements.

* Other tasks as required.

EHS requirement

- Know and follow established job specific and facility wide environment, health and safety procedures and rules

- Maintain housekeeping in work area

- Maintain Environment, health and safety equipment in good working order

-Actively participate in related environment, health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received

-Keep other employees and contractor aware of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employees work practices and incorporating safety in their daily tasks

- Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities in assigned scope:

• Develop Safety Risk Analyses (SRA) and safe working procedures

• Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions

• Accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations

- Participate actively in providing suggestions for Environment, health and safety program improvement

-Bring environment, health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those they can

- Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in their work area

Job requirement

Qualification, requirement

* Bachelor's Degree in Safety Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or other technical field.

* Must have basic English skills (can read & write) in order to maintain daily workload and training.

* Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Desired characteristics

Demonstrated solid verbal and written skills.

* Manufacturing Industry experience.

* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence employees and contractors in assigned scope
