Digital Enablement Lead, Operational Excellence (Contract)

This will be a 1 year contract role.

The Operational Excellence team within Grab Singapore is responsible for championing business process re-engineering, automation, data analytics as well as other value improvement solutions, in order to provide the efficiency leverage for our business to grow sustainably.

We operate on a project-based nature, from generation of a business case for change, scoping of requirements and facilitation of As-Is understanding workshops, through to the development of To-Be processes, automation solutions and analytical dashboards, as well as the tracking of benefits realized.

Get to know the role:

This is an exciting opportunity within the wider Operations organisation in Grab Singapore. As the Lead for Digital Enablement you will be responsible for transforming the way business works across Verticals including Transport, Food, Rentals, etc.

You will manage a team of automation Associates on multiple concurrent projects, which involve understanding the needs of our business stakeholders, identifying key issues and potential areas for improvement, designing and implementing automation solutions, and evaluating the outcomes with business users. You will also keep up-to-date and execute the infrastructure and competency development roadmap for Digital Enablement.

You should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, on top of familiarity with the leading programming languages, for example Python, VBA, C++, JavaScript, and MySQL. Your self-motivation and experience managing developers will be very helpful for you to excel in this role. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills will also play a crucial role in succeeding as Digital Enablement Lead.

The day-to-day activities:

You will collaborate with your peers in the Performance Improvement and Planning & Analytics teams to engage stakeholders in various business Verticals for their end-to-end improvement and automation needs: 

• Analyze the automation and systems needs of Grab Singapore’s businesses

• Oversee the development of effective user interfaces, networks, and hardware and software solutions to resolve key business pain points

• Build upon the existing automation framework and script library

• Managing and ensuring the long-term sustainability and maintenance of all developed tools and solutions, including considerations around tech debt, data security and access

• Work with the regional automation team to rollout effective business solutions to other countries

The must haves:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Information Technology

• Minimum 5-6 years of professional experience, including managing operating systems, server and network applications, and the entire SDLC

• Familiarity with one or more leading programming language, e.g. Python, VBA, C++, JavaScript, and MySQL

• Highly analytical and adept at problem-solving

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build cross-functional relationships and facilitate joint outcomes

• Self-starter and an engineer at heart, who is passionate about leveraging technology to help business operations drive change and improve growth.

The good-to-haves:

• Familiarity and certification with AWS Suites / Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud

• Full stack software development experience

• Good understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools
