DevOps Engineer

Get to know the Role:

We are seeking a senior ops engineer to cover the maintenance of our server/db resources, along with the development of the various facilities we have to support our tech sectors, for example, deployment/monitoring/log visualization systems. Besides, you will need to work together with other Grab devops engineers to introduce new technologies and processes into the dev ops architecture of GrabWheels.

The day-to-day activities:

1. Be responsible for maintaining the corporate AWS cluster, daily problem solving, precaution formulation, performance optimization, etc.

2. Design & implement ops supporting systems, including but not limited to deployment system, monitoring system, CI tools, etc.

3. Database daily maintenance, performance monitoring & architecture evolution.

The must haves:

1. Be familiar with networking topology, Linux OS, mainstream middleware/db engines/virtualization technologies.

2. Hands-on experiences on configuring Nginx/IPTables/Security Groups.

3. Hands-on experiences on scripting using shell/python to set up common ops platforms, such as Jenkins/Zabbix/ELK.

4. Be skilled in common techniques to achieve db high availability/disaster recovery capability, db sharding, and cross-engine db query.

5. Be familiar with common linux commands to carry out daily ops work.

6. Be responsible, meticulous in work, have good anti-pressure ability.

7. Good English reading/writing capabilities, basic oral English skills.

Nice to haves:

1. Master at least one or two of the mainstream relational db engines, such as MySql, PostgreSQL, and one no sql db engine, such as Mongo, redis.

2. Basic knowledge of one of the programming languages Go/Java and hands-on experiences on that.
