Get to know the Role:
Deep dive into drivers of business performance in each of our markets (and lines of business) using advanced statistics, predictive models and other needed techniques.
Explore business issues/opportunities by uncovering customer insights and/or identify targeted areas for business growth.
Partner with management and operational teams to answer complex multivariate business questions and use our vast dataset to refine decision-making.
Collaborate with other analytics, data engineering & data science teams to build central data science & analytics products and to expand Grab’s universe of data for building richer insights.
The day-to-day activities:
Develop econometrics-based and/or predictive models to uncover causal relationships between key business drivers (e.g. combination of pricing, promo and rewards) and business outcomes (e.g. rides, revenue, active users).
Extend, localise and optimise data science models developed regionally (eg. Pax LTV, Dax churn scoring) to each country and drive the usage/interpretability.
Identify optimal customer segment attributes to develop predictive insights & recommendations for increasing customer stickiness and cross-product usage.
Ensure close working relationship with data engineering team.
The must haves:
A Bachelor's/Masters/PhD, preferably in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Optimization and other relevant fields
2 years relevant work experience in a data science team.
Strong foundation in data query/manipulation using SQL and data visualisation using tools like Tableau, Holistics and Chartio.
Strong hands on skills using R or Python in implementation of data science techniques on vast data.
Experience in Spark (Scala / PySpark) is preferable.
Passionate about solving problems – possesses a relentless need for investigation and data exploration.
Results and detail-oriented, with strong intuitions on how to solve problems creatively and quickly.
Experience in business, strategy and/or tech consulting would be an advantage
