As Head of marketing for Grab MY:

  • You will be responsible for planning and formulating the country marketing plan, as well as budget management and target tracking. You will be accountable for demand generation across all Grab verticals and will have to work closely with business leads for alignment on marketing. Successful applicant will take on leadership role and manage a cross functional team of 25 marketers, including PR, digital, social media, partnerships and market research.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and planning: Responsible in designing marketing strategies independently that includes market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans in the manner that support consistent business growth and enhance brand equity.
  • Grow Grab passengers: Drive the growth of Grab passengers across all our business verticals ​(via acquisition, retention, loyalty and strategic partnerships and comms.) ​through disruptive and effective marketing efforts, be hyper local and relevant in the way we revolutionize the transportation industry in MY.
  • Grow Grab drivers: Build a healthy and strong driver supply growth through both driver acquisition and retention programs.
  • Provide direction and strategy for Go-To-Market: Work with all key stakeholders to optimize all marketing efforts, spend and channel across various types of marketing campaign and activities.​
  • Build brand love for Grab: Work closely with the regional brand marketing team to make the brand’s positioning, value proposition and messaging are relevant for Malaysians across all consumer touch points.
  • Shape social media/ public relations: Work with the regional Communications team to handle media requests, social media marketing and CSR campaigns on ground. Proactively manage relationships with the media to create positive publicity on the business and engage the public to support Grab.
  • Inspire and lead a team: Provide leadership guidance to a team of 25 to deliver exceptionally high quality marketing. Guide each team member through their personal growth, skills development and career progression with Grab.
  • Manage budget and business targets: Manage M​alaysia​’s overall​ marketing budget and own quarterly KPIs for both campaigns and business results.
  • Maintain strong external working relationships: Identify and engage trustworthy partners and ​
    external vendors that are committed to deliver high quality work for creative, PR, media buying, events​,​ etc. for Grab.

Our ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor degree preferably with a focus on Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations and/or Business Administration.
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant marketing experience, both on strategic planning and execution. Strong preference for experience with Internet, mobile and/or digital service products - with high impact on customer experience and journey.
  • Familiar with the entire marketing mix – you have a good knowledge of how and when to leverage different marketing channels from above-the-line and below-the-line communications for brand activation.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Malaysian market, deep understanding of consumer insights and media landscape.
  • Results-oriented and data-driven: Ab​le to make data-informed decisions for marketing plan. Proven track record of utilizing data in forming innovative and interesting ideas that is successfully operationalised into impactful marketing campaign execution.
  • Relentlessly driven and seeks challenges: Willingness to drive growth and able to embrace and tackle challenges.
  • A natural leader who has the ability to motivate and coach a team of diverse team members with different experience levels and skill sets.
  • Resourceful and creative: Knack for identifying great marketing creative. You work well with creative people, knowing how they need to be briefed and managed in order to deliver the most impactful creative work.
  • Highly detail-oriented: Ensure the quality of all marketing materials and communications; and manage budget.
  • ​Ability to think on your feet to solve complex issues in a very short span of timeis a bonus: pace of change is both refreshing and terrifying. Whatever your background you will need to be ready to be nimble and agile!
