About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Thai / English translator to create compelling content for Grab’s in-app and website interfaces.
- This is an in-house role where you’ll be the go-to person for translating, proofreading and transcreating projects from English to Thai.
- Projects range from in-app copy, website copy, marketing materials and customer service related content like FAQs and help documentation.
- As the Thai expert, you shall ensure all written work are appropriately checked and reviewed, fully compliant and delivered on time.
- As you become more familiar with the requirements of our users, you will document your best practice into a content style guide for the benefit of other content creators and translators.
- As part of the Product Design team, you should have an understanding of user experience design for mobile apps, websites, or touch devices.
- More than being just a translator, you’re also a UX practitioner who understands findings from user researches and apply appropriate content and solutions to address the problems.
- Your daily work involves collaborations with specialists like UX content writers, UX designers, researchers, visual designers, product managers, business stakeholders and engineers.
- To get up to speed, you should be familiar with the process of localisation in a tech environment and have a working knowledge of common mobile and front-end web development and tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Take responsibility for and manage the day-to-day delivery of assigned translation projects for Transport & Payment initiatives, including in-app, web, product and customer service related content.
- Ensure all translated materials are appropriately checked and reviewed, fully compliant and delivered on time.
- Work closely with the local and regional stakeholders to produce precise and sharp copies that address customer needs in various markets.
- Conduct desk checks of user interface during the engineering development phase.
- Maintain a content style guide for Grab Indonesia to ensure content quality and convey the best practices for content creators and translators.
- Ensure all translated content are delivered in our approved tone-of-voice.
- Understand findings from user researches and apply appropriate content and solutions to address the problems.
REQUIREMENTS- 4+ years of relevant experience working with in-house content team, product team or marketing team, or at translation agencies.
- Mastery of Thai and English.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with translation agencies, translation tools and processes.
- Experience working in a fast-paced tech startup highly desirable.
- Experience working with designers, product managers, project managers, engineers and developers in an agile fashion.
- Strong communication skills and ability to easily collaborate across a remote workforce across countries.
- Able to multi-task and deliver several projects on time.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Analytical skills to understands and utilises metrics relevant to role.
- Detail-oriented fast learner with the initiative to challenge the status quo to make improvements.
