Get to know the Role

The Business Development Head is responsible for driving strategic growth and gain market share for Grab’s corporate transportation solutions, as well as the creation and implementation of the overall corporate partnership strategy for Grab Myanmar. He generates, leads and manages partnerships across various industries in the country to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities –

  • Define the current landscape. Identify business opportunities and strategic partnerships for Grab, and key segments to target.
  • Engage prospects / partners by effectively developing and communicating a clear Grab value proposition to specific to the partner’s needs
  • Effectively structure sales offers, deals and business cases using data analysis and business modelling
  • P&L Management & Sales Cadence: manage the corporate sales pipeline and maintain revenue leadership. Provide regular reporting and forecasting to local and regional management.
  • End to end management of deals – from contract closure to on-time, on-target execution and post-mortem analysis
  • Set up robust performance metrics for teams. Be fully aligned on company’s growth strategies and empower teams to execute country strategies in support of business KPIs.
  • Maintain key relationships with partner institutions by understanding and effectively navigating partners’ organizational structures; be able to tap into this network of relationships when needed
  • Implement and manage work processes and procedures; work closely with ops, marketing, product and business development teams throughout Southeast Asia (SEA). Ensure cross-functional alignment on initiatives and timelines
  • Manage and track the team’s budgets effectively; be able to forecast expenditures and ROI
  • Support to build and maintain a high performing team with a best in class team culture. Provide coaching and continuous professional development of teammates.

Our-Must Haves for the Ideal Candidate:

  • Have at least a University degree with 4-5 relevant working experience in Business Development, Marketing, Sales & Account Management. Experience in a similar start-up or fast-paced, hyper-growth environment is a definite plus.
  • Proven ability to blend business, strategy, finance and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted, win-win deals
  • Capable of basic business modelling and data analysis to drive decision making
  • Strong grasp of industry trends and local intricacies; empathetic and strong ability to know what partners want.
  • Demonstrates clarity of thought, sharp analytical ability, effective problem-solver.
  • Strong track record in project management, a high level of attention to detail and efficiency while working on various projects and under tight timelines
  • Strong inter-personal skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Can design effective PowerPoint presentations, proficient in Word/Excel as well
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Burmese.
  • Strong code of ethics and sound business judgment required.
