Grab Ventures is the venture building and venture investments arm of Grab. We incubate new businesses within Grab and also partner with dynamic tech startups globally through strategic investments and startup programs. We are looking for a rockstar to join our Programs & Investments team, focusing on our startup programs mandate. Learn more about our work here

Job Description:

Programs (70%):

• Startup sourcing and assessment :

  • Conduct ecosystem/sector research to identify and outreach to highly investible startups for the GVV program

  • Perform in-depth business analysis to evaluate startups in the GVV program pipeline

  • Support startup selection process through analysing and summarizing business data to build selection thesis

  • Support assessment of startups during pilot engagement to present investment thesis for select to investments committee

• Program planning and execution :

  • Work across various functional stakeholders (marketing, tech…) to secure the necessary support required to launch GVV program

  • Manage day-to-day communication with multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Assist in tracking, analyzing, and summarizing startup performance during pilots

  • Program manage and execute various program events

Investments (30%):

• Deal sourcing and market intelligence:

  • Assist in sourcing good quality startups for Grab Ventures to invest in through active research

  • Assist in summarizing key technology trends and market insights for the team

• Analysis & deal execution :

  • Analyze company information from data rooms

  • Build financial models for forecasting and valuation

  • Support deal negotiation and diligence activities

  • Assist in building investment thesis

• Deal flow management :

  • Support investments pipeline management for internal reviews

We invite candidates meeting below criteria to apply:

• A minimum of 2 years in a startup role or tier-1 accelerators, VCs, consulting firms or Corporate Venture Capital (CVCs)

• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities, experience with financial analysis preferred

• Excellent communicator; comfortable managing multiple internal and external stakeholders

• Comfortable working in fast-paced and unstructured work environments

• High degree of comfort with change and openness for exposure to other parts of the business like venture building and startup programs

• Self-starters comfortable operating day-to-day work independently and effectively

• Indonesian / Bahasa speaking candidates preferred

• Strong academic credentials

• Demonstrated interest in the venture capital and entrepreneurial finance space

• Flexible with regional travel at least 25% of the time

• Experience building technology startups is a plus
