The Regional Operations organisation is accountable for management of 7 of Grab’s 8 markets in SEA, as well as running critical shared marketplace and operations services that span all of Grab. We contribute towards Grab’s vision of being Southeast Asia’s SuperApp by providing everyday services that matter most to consumers in the region
The Strategy & Planning team supports the Head of Regional Operations to set the regional strategy, manage the regional business, and achieve mission-critical objectives, frequently interacting with key senior stakeholders across all of Grab, both in-country and at a corporate level
Smooth operation of the region, regional & country leadership satisfaction, as well as delivery of high quality and timely cross-functional project work are key objectives of this team
Get to know the Role:
Support or lead study, design and implementation for high impact strategic topics, as part of the overall Regional Strategy (>50%)
Support administration of the region through target-setting, facilitation of key management meetings, and handling of ad hoc issues and escalations that arise (20%)
Occasional travel as required by specific projects (10-20%)
Direct contact with senior executives in the organization – both local & regional teams
Occasionally lead or deliver day-to-day execution of high impact initiatives
The day-to-day activities:
Be a sounding board for the strategic decisions of senior management staff including the Head of Regional Operations and Head of Strategy & Planning
Support preparation and facilitation of the regional governance & management cadence, including monthly management meetings
Lead preparation of regular regional updates on regional performance and initiatives for circulation within Grab
Support planning & analysis strategic initiatives: e.g. providing a fact base, structuring and helping with issue identification and solutioning, advising on the practicalities of implementation
Participate in cross-functional exercises and initiatives, representing the Regional operations team
Support senior members of the team on an ad hoc basis
The must haves:
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree with a strong academic record and a minimum of 3 years working experience
Strong background in strategic thinking & demonstrated ability to problem solve
Experience with hands-on engagement, strong interpersonal / influencing skills
Highly adaptable across situations / topics / industries
Convincing executive presence, solid spoken and written communication skills (including executive level communication / slides)
An ability to influence, quickly dissect issues across a variety of topics, and thrive in a highly ambiguous environment are all critical success factors for the role.
Able to work independently and travel within the region as required from time to time
