Assistant Director - Facilities Management

SCOPE AND RANGE:

In accordance with the policies, procedures and standards, this position, during normal operations, manages the day to day operation under the guidance of the Director, Engineering, all in accordance with the agreed standards and procedures unless otherwise agreed.  In the absence of the Director of Engineering, assumes the authority and responsibility for managing the Engineering Group / Division, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Hotels and F&B.  Actively supports Senior Managers in efforts to improve the quality of Engineering delivered to its customers. Informs the Director, Engineering of any concerns impacting on his ability to successfully discharge his duties.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare Annual and Reforecast all Operating Budgets

•  Co-ordination with all other operating departments and in close co-operation with Director, Facility Services and department of Finance, relevant to the operational requirements of the property.
• To keep accurate records and monitor closely all Engineering budget expenditures.
• To proactively manage costs based on key performance indicators

2.  Implementation of Policies & Procedure

• As a member of the executive team, provide active partnering and feedback to the top line management on issues relating to Facility management such as organizational structure, talent and leadership development, succession planning, cultural and change management

3. Life safety Procedures

• To inspect life safety features and to observe closely the conditions of all operating equipment
• Preparation and implementation of an Emergency Response Plan and the operation and maintenance of all life safety.

4. Training Program

• To conduct training courses for all staff in maintenance, life safety and fire fighting
• Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner focusing on people development
